I think I saw that in the 3D particle source, there was a new renderer added that improved performance greatly.
Sadly, I don't need 3D, and I have my whole system built around the old 2D system.
Is there a chance of some improvements to the 2D side of things? Currently, my particles take up about 75% of my draw, and about 30-40% of my update, so I'm looking for ways to improve it, since performance is now an issue due to the particles.
(Alternatively, is there a way to "upgrade" existing particle effect XML to the new format in the 3D version -- that way I might be able to update without having to manually recreate all 40+ particle effects?)
Thanks in advance.
